FUNDING RECEIVED FROM THE JEFFERSON TRUST!

Dr. Puglia and collaborators Santina Zanelli, Kevin Pelphrey, and Greg Gerling have received funding from the Jefferson Trust to examine how early life sensory exposure following preterm birth shapes developing neural circuitry to impact developmental outcomes.

Together with a team of interdisciplinary collaborators from across grounds, grad student Cat Thrasher and Dr. Puglia have received a Transformative Neurodevelopment Pilot Grant from the UVA Baby Brain Initiative (BaBI) and Brain Institute. This grant will provide funding to support a project aimed at understanding neural mechanisms of caregiver touch during infancy.
