EPIGENETIC INFLUENCES ON SOCIAL BRAIN DEVELOPMENT

Ages: 0 - 4 months

We are looking at how gene expression and brain activity shape social development over the first year of life.

We ask that you will make 4-5 visits to the lab, when your child is 0, 4, 8, 12, and 16 months old.

Infants will:

  • Undergo EEG while presented with social and nonsocial stimuli

  • Use an eye-tracker while viewing pictures and videos of shapes and people

  • Undergo a recorded play session with their parent

  • Provide a small sample of saliva for DNA analysis

  • The parent will also provide a small sample of saliva.

As a thank you for your time, you will be compensated with a $50 visa gift card at the end of each visit for a maximum payment of $250.

Infants must:

  • Be aged 0-4 months

  • Have been born full term (> 36 week's gestation)

  • Have no uncorrectable audio or visual disability

  • Be primarily spoken to in English
